Our Country - Part Two

George Washington gave his most eloquent speech in his Farewell Address with much encouragement, hope and promise as well as warnings and admonitions. One of the most stern warning was to not to lose our "national morality".

He states, "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness—these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. The mere politician, equally with the pious man, ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity. Let it simply be asked, "where is the security for property, for reputation, for life, if the sense of religious obligation desert the oaths which are the instruments of investigation in courts of justice?" And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion. Whatever may be conceded to the influence of refined education on minds of peculiar structure, reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.

I would hope and pray we can change our focus back to what our country was founded upon. Principles that included Godly character and patriotic and pioneering spirit.

Our Country - Part One

As one of the bonus materials I will include when you buy "Investing in Silver: Practical Strategies and Valuable Information" is U.S. Comptroller General, Davis Walker, on 60 Minutes interview. Even though it was endorsing a presidential candidate, the message is undeniably accurate. I have included it and hope you will take heed to the message and plan accordingly.

We, as Americans,
have not been wise in handling practical matters; nor have we exercised good judgment or common sense. We must change our attitudes toward government, social services, health care, jobs, and a number of other issues that have taken our once patriotic spirit and turned it to one of complacency, dependence on handouts and a "failure to thrive". We have lost the spirit of being an American and on what we should put our focus and dependence.
