I hope you had a great day. We were so blessed to spend the weekend with our son and his family. There is so much joy in being with loved ones. Seeing happy faces and smiles, sharing meals and games, building a swing for our granddaughter and going 4-wheeling reminded me how important family is. In my opinion, nothing matters more than family.
Where is your family? That can range from having no family to having a huge family living close by and every combination in between. Even though we moved to Tyler to be "closer", we still have to drive 7 hours to our nearest loved ones. But what about your spiritual family? You can choose to be part of a loving, caring family right where you are. Do you have a church family? My wife and I have commented numerous times about how we couldn't have "made it" at certain times in our life without our church family. The encouragement, support, fellowship and growth we've received through the years have been answers to prayer. God promises to provide for us and he does that through our relationships with each other. When we had a miscarriage, it was the support of a church member who had experienced the same thing that got us through. When our kids were going through difficulties at school, it was older members whose children had similar trials that gave us encouragement and ideas to help our kids. At every major time in our life, our church family was there to help. That is God's plan-He is our heavenly father and loves us so much that he makes sure we are taken care of.
I hope you have a church family that you can enjoy being a part of. If you don't, please look for one. There are many churches who would love to make you part of their family. A church is just a group of people who love God, love each other and want to love others as well. Remember, "For God so loved the world (you and me) that he gave his only son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16
